Nosa – Dry Bones

Following up on his spirit-filled ode to God’s love, “Na Your Way”, Nosa returns with “Dry Bones” – an inspirational song and reminder to stand tall in the face of challenges.

Nosa’s “Dry Bones” is a beacon of hope. In a world that constantly churns out reasons to be sad or downcast, it is a breath of fresh optimism that is firmly rooted in God’s never-ending faithfulness.

The song’s many elements perfectly combine to create a thoroughly moving masterpiece. Its majestic strings; resounding and emphatic drums; the spine-tingling croon of the harmonious choir. They all perfectly complement Nosa’s deft songwriting and unmistakable silvery vocals.

The song is accompanied by powerful visuals which could very well see it pick up an award for video of the year. Between its gorgeous scenic shots, clever motifs, camera movements, and moving contemporary dance numbers, it is a cinematic delight.

The Moment Frank Edwards was shocked as he paid a surprise visit to Christ Embassy Maryland on a Saturday Morning!

Frank Edwards aka Frank Richboy, Rock town boss and multiple award-winning gospel artist extraordinaire, was driving through town on a Saturday morning, and saw a Christ Embassy church in Maryland where he was currently visiting, so out of curiosity he decided to stop by without informing them ahead of his coming.

What he witnessed next staggered him.

He was stunned at the warm reception he got from parents, teens and even little kids who were inside on a Saturday Morning.

He wasn’t expecting to see anyone or any activity, yet he was bombarded with hugs and so much love from the lovely Maryland members who all stormed out to take selfies with their favorite gospel star.

He was rendered speechless at the love, realizing he had fans as little as 3 and 4 who all wanted a group hug while one mum ran in to call the entire squad and inform them about their surprise visitor.

It was a beautiful sight to behold and could be likened to the rapture when Our Lord and Savior will come and those ready will go with him and celebrate his coming.

Frank Edwards is currently on a music media tour in Maryland.

Which way Nigerian Music?

Nigerian’s music industry has evolved no doubt, looking back to where it is coming from, one can hardly believe the speed at which it got to this point. It didn’t get here by magic, as at 2016 to 2021, the Entertainment and Media Industry is estimated to produce income of up to $2.8 billion according to a report by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) report.

The big break for the Nigerian Music scene came in just like the book of Ecclesiastes 3: 1, which says “To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens.” Finally, the world decided it was time to hear the African Sound, and Nigeria was a strong pioneer of the African sounds.

The influx of the big stars and record labels from 2004 saw the Nigerian Music Industry evolve into a mega-industry that adds to the GDP of the country. Our local artists within this period began collaborating with the foreign artists, we have seen Dbanj and Kanye West, PSquare and Rick Ross, Frank Edwards and Don Moen, now we have our very own artists earning up to $100,000 per show.

Now, from 2016 to 2019, Nigeria sounds and tunes have become globally recognized and a force to reckon with universally. Asides the foreign collaboration, our artists are getting mega endorsements from international brands like Coca-cola, Nike and other top players. These brands understand the power of numbers and they know the Nigerian sound command the kid of numbers they need as a brand to stay in the spotlight.

Our music is now a commercial exchange in the musical ecosystem and every country is dealing and importing our sounds. The world has indeed awoken to the Nigerian sounds and it is only just beginning.

SINGLES VS ALBUMS – THE MAKING! Part 2

Before this era, those of us that grew up in the ’90s and early 2000s, we experienced music differently. Artists were more rugged and when they released albums, you had no choice but to listen to every single track in your walkman, then fast forward, repeat and rewind to your favorites.

Artists worked hard for their music back then because nobody will buy a CD with only a single in it or two songs, no matter how good it was, everyone just had to buy a CD and listen to all the songs because of the way the walkman was designed.

Then the internet came and iPods changed everything and now, technology, music streaming devices, and YouTube have revolutionalized listening.

Today, the quickest way to be seen is on the charts, once you’ve made the charts then “you have arrived.”Album can come much later. Ask Davido, he knows this and he has been using this style to stay ontop the music scene.

He dropped IF and FIA in 2017, and with a strong social media he was the reigning king, prior to that, he last release was “Son of Mercy” in 2016, today he has demystified the puzzle. Assurance, one single meant for his girlfriend is on everyone’s soundtrack, Davido realized love sells and after IF and FIA, he learned and now he has used this strategy to garner and gather the fame and fortune that comes with understanding what works and what works best for you.

Some artists still believe in the old way of doing things, Falz the bad guy, Simi, etc, they still do the groundwork and churn out albums but a large majority of artists just want to hammer big with one single. This strategy might be perceived as making artists lazy, but again that’s the trend of the market and society, nobody wants to hear an entire album except you are popular and already known, else people just wanna listen to good songs and singles, provides just that.

With the right music, producer, social media marketing and platform, you can still get people to listen to your album, but first you need to carve your own niche and gain their trust with good music.

Singles or Albums…What’s your take?

Quality over quantity, and to gain the right traction, you need to work for it, it’s not magic and you won’t get a miracle you didn’t work for.

SINGLES VS ALBUMS – THE MAKING – Part 1

To advance further and faster in the music industry and make your music a long-lasting Money Making Machine, then read this:

In today’s music industry, releasing a song and getting the right reception for it, isn’t as easy as A, B, and C. It’s more complicated. The battle between singles vs albums isn’t getting colder and the market for singles is still leading and might continue to do so, for obvious reasons.

Singles vs Albums has been a heated debate for years in the music industry, so to be ahead, you need to know how to market and distribute your single successfully while considering the pros of releasing an album.

Almost every music streaming platforms are more interested in singles. Radio stations for one, Boomplay, Spotify, Apple Music, etc. The list goes on. This era, knowing what your fans want on one hand, and what your music needs on the other is the line between being an upcoming and becoming a star!

Few other platforms welcome all kinds of music. CeFlix Tunes, the leading gospel music platform in Nigeria, takes on all kinds of gospel music, whether it’s a single or an album. They’ve got you covered as an artist.

When it comes to music, momentum is everything. Releasing singles gives you that momentum you need to blow!

Pushing up one song is easier and effective than pushing an album, but don’t think for one second that it’s that simple. Both options have their pros and cons.

Lady Gaga, Cardi B, Drake are known to release singles first and build anticipation with this move, then finally release their albums. By this time, they have set-up a rolling hype curve that puts their albums on a fiery snowball.

You need to understand the marketing style of music. Most artists make the grave mistake of releasing a single then months later releasing the video…the hype for the song has already grown cold so the video is just a waste of your resources. Music videos are important when pushing a single, and the next thing to go on for is an aggressive follow up on social media and shows/events.

Kindly like, comment and share this post. The concluding part to this article is coming up soon.

What Else Can You Do In The Music Industry Besides Singing?

Being a Musician isn’t your only option you know

Have you ever wished you could be a part of the music industry even though you don’t have the voice to be a musician? Well, guess what, there is hope and a whole lot of options for you that doesn’t involve having a great voice for singing.

Music Manager

If you are good in handling people and are very much organized and tough, then this might just be the perfect fit for you. As a manager, you will be the mouth piece and the go-to of the artists; you must be actively involved in the life of the artist, his career and down to when he/she sleeps at night. This role gives you the opportunity to work with the music you love, and although, hitting it big might be excruciatingly slow, but if your artists is an upcoming one and finally hits it, your pay day has only just begun.

Start a Label

Don’t be scared, it is not as scary as it sounds. You can actually start a record label with limited start-up capital, all you need to go on, is to research as much as possible on seminars, books, online classes and YouTube for materials on record label in general, to familiarize yourself with the business procedures and strategies. Although you won’t start making money immediately, just like it takes time for an artist to blow, it’s the same with you. You must be ready and willing to put in the work, invest a lot financially and passionately, into every part of the music and you will definitely see profit as you arm yourself with organizational and promotional skills.

Music Distributor

This role requires a lot of information passing around with you being in the center of the loom with record labels, music stores etc. It means you have to know everything first, like when there are new albums coming out, latest trends and releases even before they are released. Most times you might not like the music, but you just have to make sure it gets out and then deal with logistics, and unforeseen challenges with sales and packaging involving the music distribution. As a music distributor,

Music Agent

It is a tough ship to steer, but it has its pros. Your work involves working round the clock with labels, music managers, bands, groups and even promoters to organize shows, gigs and activities that would put your artist out there in the market without being a victim to the politics of the trade like promoters.

Profit comes with lots of patience and hard-work but eventually, once you have become a name to be associated and acknowledged, then you are good to go.

Sound Engineer

This is a pretty exciting role as it puts you in the midst of shows, tours and the very core of the entertainment industry with the artists. If you are a technical person, then this is a perfect fit for you. You have to be pretty creative with delivering sound quality even if you have to work with bad tools, your pay depends on how good you are and your reputation.

Cover-Art Graphics Designer

You have to be a pretty good creative artist to land this role. You are responsible for creating the visual element of the album. That is a huge responsibility to shoulder, as great image is as important as the music, and gives the music an identity. If you have the passion and not the skills, or you have the skills and want to improve, you can visit www.cefliximages.com they provide the best designs and opportunities that leave you designing like a pro, with no training or cut throat cost.

So much more to do without necessary having a good singing voice, these are just to whet your appetite and to let you know there are so much more you can be without being a musician.
