Since turning over a new leaf and embracing Christianity, the newly turned gospel singer Kanye West can’t stop spilling his guts and testifying about his newfound faith.
On his recent discussion with Beats 1 host Zane Lowe, Kanye West made a shocking revelation as he confessed to pornography, having been introduced at a very young age of five. He claimed to have been addicted and is now free only by the grace of God.
In his words; “Like for me, Playboy was my gateway into full-on pornography addiction, my dad had a Playboy left out at age five and it’s affected almost every choice I made for the rest of my life. From age five ’till now, having to kick the habit, and it just presents itself in the open like it’s ok, and I stand up and say, ‘No it’s not ok.’”
He also said, “It’s like with God, I’ve been able to beat things that had full control of me. You know that Playboy that I found when I was 5-years-old was written all over the moment when I was at the MTV Awards with the Timberlands, the Balmain jeans — before people were rocking Balmain jeans — and the Hennessy bottle. It’s like that was such a script out of a rock star’s life.”
He disclosed that his mother’s death in 2007 sent him over the edge and led him straight to porn addiction.
He has started using his platform to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the newly released album Jesus is King is already a tool he is using to evangelize and preach to people not to participate in premarital sex.
He isn’t stopping there, he also believes that families that pray together stay together and so he wants people to always pray and fast because, in his words, “When people pray together and fast together, the power is increased.”
Some might say Kanye West is a bit radical with his faith, but the artist is unperturbed and is always warming up about taking his faith to the next level.
