[Video] Psalm Eben – Overflow

Gospel singer Psalm Eben introduces himself with his first song video of the decade “Overflow” from his recently released album Tehillah.

Overflow is a promise and an affirmation in the efficacy of the power of God and a true test of our firm belief in God’s presence, proclaiming our victory, healing, and blessings by faith and believing we have received all we have asked for.

According to the scriptures in Romans 8:11, the word says:

“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.”

The word of God has succinctly defined Our Sustainability as a Christian as staying connected in the Spirit of God because the spirit controls our physical bodies.

Having a relationship with God places you above trials and tribulations, adversities, sickness, principalities, failure and challenges e.t.c This is what Psalm Eben tries to express in his beautiful inspiring music video.

“The bible says where two or three are gathered in my name there I am”

So, whenever we are gathered to pray, let’s welcome the presence of the Lord which is readily available to manifest in all we do.

Chris Shalom Says its Ok for Gospel Artists to Sing with Secular Artists!

The man with the golden voice, Chris Shalom, was live on “Moments with Ella” with the enigmatic and beautiful OAP, Ella.

As a special guest artist, the multi-talented and award-winning global music icon was asked if it is right for gospel artists and secular artists to sing together, and he replied in the affirmative.

Apparently, Testimony Jaga featured Small Doctor on his show early this year, and a lot of testimonies were shared as 56 souls were won while a Muslim woman was converted from Islam to Christianity.

In his words, it is absolutely fine for a gospel artist to feature a secular artist so long as the gospel is propagated at the end.

He narrated a time when Pastor Chris was asked if a Christain can celebrate Halloween and in his response, he said, no matter the intentions, if you are using it for the gospel to carry out evangelical outreaches and win souls, then it is fine.

He added, that both artists, Testimony Jaga, and Small Doctor are big and the collabo between both artists was a positive development that led to souls being won and lives being transformed.

Testimony Jaga is from the street and understands the streets, therefore a collabo with Small Doctor that saw the secular artist sing Testimony’s song during his street gospel movement, led to many street guys dropping their drugs and character at the show and praising God.

Jesus didn’t come to condemn the world but to reconcile them to the gospel, therefore God isn’t concerned with what you are doing but after your heart.

Chris Shalom said it is not business as usual for those who believe any music arrangement between gospel and secular artists is purely for profit-making, he said once a seed has been sown, there will definitely be a bountiful harvest.

Imagine a Small Doctor coming out tomorrow to stand for Jesus just like Kanye West is doing right now.

He ended with, it’s okay for Gospel artists to mix with secular artists so long as Christ is being promoted and preached.

He blessed his listeners with a profound story about how he sold his gulf car in 2010 to make a video.

He was burning with so much fire he was ready to do whatever it takes to prove to God that he was ready. In his words, “The strength of your foundation will sustain you even when you hit turbulent times because the attraction you get is based on your composition.

When asked about his plans for the decade and if he has any new work coming out soon, his face was lit with joy as he explained in detail what his plans are for the coming months.

Firstly, he announced the release of his new song endorsed by the man of God, Rev Dr Chris Oyakhilome at the last Sunday special service where Pastor Chris made an input to the song and the man with the golden voice immediately went and worked on the song, now he is about to bless his fans and listeners with an audio and a video.

He said, with the resources and materials available for use in this millennial, there is no excuse to fail, none at all. You don’t have a reason to be disadvantaged in this present dispensation.

This is good news for those waiting for material from Chris Shalom.

In his advice to listeners and other upcoming artists, he said, put God first in all that you do, and he went further to admonish them to have the mindset of ambassadors of Christ because they are God’s representatives here on earth and having this mindset will make the world a better and safer place.

He recited Galatians 2:20 as his favorite scripture and one verse that keeps him going.

He said, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith.”

“Quiz Tha Great” Opens the Decade with “PEACE!”

On his second studio project and the first song of the decade, Nigerian born super talented music artist delivers not just a regular gospel sound but a clear vision and message for the future. It is a giant leap with a matchless, unsinkable and timeless single of the decade, unarguably one of the genre’s finest ever.

“Quiz” is building a niche as a notorious hitmaker and a worthy contender with the top A-list artists in their prime.

The race indeed is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, just a year after the release of his first studio project, “Based on Grace EP,” a song which went viral and announced him as a voice to be heard and listened to, he comes with another prolific hit, “Peace!”

It feels like the stars converged for it as the beautiful and multi-talented UK-based songstress, vocalist and diva, Naffymar collaborated to make “Peace” a complete sound and a must-listen.

In a time when chaos, war, religious bigotry, and ethnic terrorism and political crisis is the order of the day, “Peace” is a nearly gapless immersion and fit in the heart of things. It’s a relief and a relish from the noisy distraction the world is facing.

Quiz did justice with this track, deviating from his signature style to show us why he is indeed a versatile and all-round super artist, he delivers a song for all ages and time, mood and style, and culture and race, with an overall theme of peace, love, hope, serenity, calmness, and stillness, here is a song that projects harmony and unity in the face of violence and division.

Unlike most of his contemporaries who try to shy away from their past and mix with the other side, Quiz embraces both sides and delivers his song in a feel-good serenades, with gentle hip-hop rhythm slowed to a peaceful sashaying pace, his lyrics are life-transforming and soul uplifting, words we all can relate with and drink like the clear waters from the fountain of life, quenching thirsts of violence, bias, and hate.

“Quiz” is proving to be a charismatic force in Gospel and “Peace” polished, timeless and exquisite simplicity is a proof and a testament that his sounds have indeed found a home here and is here to stay.

If his contemporaries are taking our sound to the world and beyond, Quiz is setting a standard and a monument as a force to be reckoned, respected and accepted globally.

56 Souls Won, Muslim Converts to Christianity and many more Testimonies at the Street Gospel Movement Mega Concert By Testimony Jaga!

Testimony Jaga is rising swiftly to being the model of modern street gospel success. Little wonder he is known as the King of Street Gospel Movement, coincidentally a name he chose and calls his own record label that has seen him pick up talents from the street and turn them into masterpieces.

Indeed he is refining and reshaping the world, one youth a time by transforming their dirt into a silver lining.

His recently held Street Gospel Movement Mega Concert was a delight for music fans and lovers.

In the past, Music festivals have had a bad reputation to the neighborhood, in terms of noise and security risks due to the caliber of people it attracts. Things have changed significantly with the influence of gospel artists using the platform to minister and evangelize.

Thousands have been led to Christ and miracles have been recorded since these gospel artists took their footprints to the street.

TheMega concert was heralded as a huge success, bringing together the best of legendary gospel artists comprising of Eben, Buchi, Frank Edwards, Agent Snypa, Woli Arole and many others, and even secular artist, like Small Doctor, the surprise of the show.

The event saw popular Nigerian singer Small Doctor popularly referred to as Omo Better take the stage. At such a young age, Small Doctor is living out his dreams and creating his own music with a perspective like none other. He is using his influence to turn a negative into a positive, using his style of music as an asset, he is setting himself apart from other recording artists.

Small Doctor

Although Small Doctor is a secular artist, this is not the first time we have seen such duo and collaboration in the past between Gospel and secular artists. We have seen former Capital Hill artist and Miss Kedike, Chidinma ministering alongside the Xtreme Crew at Tim Godfrey’s Fearless Concert.

Social media commentators have been quick to voice skepticism as to whether it was proper for a secular artist to be involved, but other activities that happened proved God indeed does not mind as he sees all as his children irrespective of their genre.

56 souls were reached and won for the kingdom of God and even a Muslim woman was converted from Islam to Christianity during the ministration of Dr. Ken Woghiren, husband of Evangelist Kathy Woghiren, Director of LMAM (Love World Music and Arts Ministry).

Mayo Shares New song with Testimony Jaga – Melody – Listen and Watch

On her latest release, the Nigerian gospel artist provides not just the usual gospel sound that most rising and teeming artists are known for, but a clear vision and a message for this generation and the next level future.

It is an inspiring, unsinkable track, one of the genre’s finest ever.

Since launching herself into the music ministry in 2016, Mayo has been reshaping the sound of Gospel music, now partnering with Testimony Jaga, a prolific hitmaker and one of Nigeria’s biggest stars, she has pivoted away from sheer ambitions and fame, towards changing and transforming the traditional sounds of the gospel genre.

The song “Melody,” is a feel-good beautiful sound that serenades many with groovy, danceable, afro rhythm that eases to a gentle sashaying pace.

As the already synthesized sound of Nigerian gospel begins to transform into pop scenes and the many rising artists are beginning to mix secular signatures into their craft, Mayo is content to fine-tune and evolve with each new single and this song, “Melody” fresh, pristine and versatile, is a testament to the life-giving monument her sound is erecting to fit her status as a classical gospel heroine.

The song was produced by Dr. G while the video was directed by the Multi-talented Henry Duru.

You Don’t Go Into Gospel Music To Make Money – Frank Edwards

Nigerian gospel superstar Frank Edward, in a discussion with Punch Newspaper on the 12th of January 2020, stated that Gospel artists shouldn’t focus on the business angle only but spreading the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In an interview with the platform, when asked his opinion on the reason why most gospel singers are not being signed as ambassadors for brands He opined that the gospel industry hinders the profitability of gospel artists.

He responded by saying: There are so many reasons. Firstly, you have to understand that the industry and ministry is not the same thing. Gospel music is a ministry, the other one is an industry, so it functions fully like that.

The gospel ministry is totally different from the secular industry even though you might say that there is a business side of it which makes it similar. But in gospel ministry, the business aspect of it is never the focus. I tell people that if you want to make money, don’t do gospel music; you would have a lot of issues.

“Gospel music means one is reaching out to people through music; the others are strictly entertainment or at least 70-80 percent entertainment. The company would rather give the opportunity to musicians who sing songs that all religions, including Christians, would dance to, either at a party or in a club.

“The companies are looking for numbers, and they would give the brand ambassadorship to someone who everybody loves their music. If the companies give it to gospel singers like me, people who don’t listen to gospel would probably not pay attention.

“Although I’m a brand ambassador, it is not everything that one must do as a gospel artist. When you are not getting endorsements, think of how many souls you music has healed– that’s your reward.”

Frank Edwards is a global force and a voice to gospel artists out there, especially in a time where Gospel music is unarguably one of the most played genres in the Nigerian music sector.
